Docs7 is an MCP server that fetches current, version-specific library documentation and code examples into your coding agent's context.
$ npx docs7 setup The problem
Coding agents often suggest APIs from older versions because that is what they were trained on. Docs7 looks up the docs for the library and version you use and adds them to the prompt.
Get early access### Layouts Source: nextjs.org/docs/app/getting-started/layouts-and-pages A layout is UI that is shared between multiple pages. On navigation, layouts preserve state and do not rerender. ```tsx // app/dashboard/layout.tsx export default function DashboardLayout({ children, }: { children: React.ReactNode }) { return <section>{children}</section> } ```
app/dashboard/layout.tsx and app/dashboard/page.tsx following the Next.js 16 App Router docs.$ npm i next@latestHow it works
use docs7 to your prompt.Your agent calls resolve-library-id to find the library, then get-library-docs to pull the current docs for your topic. Then it writes the code.
Install
Run it in your project. It detects your editors and writes the MCP config for each one.
$ npx docs7 setup ✓ found Cursor → ~/.cursor/mcp.json ✓ found Claude Code → claude mcp add docs7 ✓ found VS Code → .vscode/mcp.json Done. Add use docs7 to a prompt to try it.
